Jasmine Toussaint
Director
Jasmine Toussaint is a motivated and passionate educator, who firmly believes that education can positively impact the trajectory of individual lives, influence families, and transform communities at large. With over 15 years in the nonprofit sector, Jasmine has extensive experience in project management, team building, professional development, and strategic implementation. Through her work, Jasmine has demonstrated her commitment to supporting the growth and development of young people.
Grounded in her training as an educator, and in her experience as a first-generation college student, Jasmine’s strong desire to increase educational equity for students of color led her to the nonprofit industry.

Jasmine began her career at the Upward Bound program at Wheelock College. Through her creativity and strong organizational skills, she led efforts to recruit the first inaugural class of 50 students, hired and trained staff, and designed and implemented programming. As a result of her tireless efforts and dedication, upon graduation all 50 of her former students were enrolled in higher education programs, which included a Gates Scholar, and a Posse scholar.
After four years of working with Upward Bound, Jasmine brought her passion and leadership skills to BUILD where she served as a Senior Entrepreneurship Program Manager. During her time with BUILD, she was responsible for planning and overseeing projects for 250 students, which included designing curriculum, executing over 21 events, and managing a team of 6 staff and 100 mentors.
Prior to rejoining BUILD as the Director of Campus Without Walls, Jasmine served as the Director of Operations for Summer Search where she worked to send more than 300 students annually on summer experiences both domestically and abroad. When the pandemic hit, Jasmine played a key role in designing a virtual summer program that featured 15 programs and served 170 students.
During her personal time, Jasmine has served on the board of Cornerstone Ministries Inc. for over 10 years. As part of her involvement with Cornerstone, Jasmine helps lead a free biweekly Saturday Enrichment Program for first-generation Middle School, High School, and College students.
Jasmine earned a Bachelor’s degree in English, and a Master of Education in Secondary Education, English from Boston College. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, watching football, and traveling the globe when possible.
Why I BUILD?: In the words of Marianne Williamson, it’s to remind our students and young people of color that not only are they “brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous,” they are “powerful beyond measure!”
